BLOOD HARVEST plot details (from the back cover): Hot on the heels of his sci-fi/horror classics INVASION FROM INNER EARTH, DEMONS OF LUDLOW and GIANT SPIDER INVASION (Retromedia 1024--comes with a free comic book), prolific Wisconsin-based director Bill Rebane (MONSTER-A-GO-GO), was looking for a vehicle to crack the burgeoning straight-to-video horror market. Little did he know his chosen project would crack us all upside the head.
BLOOD HARVEST is the story of young Jill, a beautiful college student who returns to her Midwestern small town, bent on finding her missing parents. What she discovers is her long-lost preppy grade school love who still has a crush on her and his psychotic, clown make-up wearing, 20's tin pan alley song-spouting brother Marvelous Mervo, played by the inimitable Tiny Tim.
As the story progresses, a masked killer butchers whoever comes near Jill in a variety of blood-splattered, gore-drenched ways. Indeed, veteran helmer Rebane really lays on the schlocky 80's slaughterhouse dressing in this one--which, combined with the regulation 80's big hair, ample 80's sex and nudity and cheesy 80's synth score--really sets this unseen 80's classic in--well--the 80's.
